CHARACTER INFO
Name: Angela Orosco.
Fandom: Silent Hill Deux (2)
Age: 19.
Gender: Female.
Sexual Orientation: Asexual.
Occupation: N/A
Appearance: At first glance, Angela doesn’t seem much, and she’s really not that attractive. Her pale skin is barely complimented by her shoulder-length black hair and black eyes. She appears much older than she actually is, like she’s been all worn and used up and just tired of living. It doesn’t help with the deep, tired circles around her eyes, and her manic nature.
You also wouldn’t catch her dead in anything revealing. For the most part she is pretty average when it comes to what she wears, having mostly baggy, long-sleeved shirts and pants—mostly jeans and corduroy pants—which tend to conceal her lithe figure. Clearly her wardrobe isn’t exactly the most noteworthy of her traits.
She doesn’t wear makeup or jewelry, or bother herself with anything to compliment her looks. She knows it wouldn’t make any difference, anyway.
Personality: Not a charming young woman, obviously, but then again, who can blame her? With all the trauma she had grown up with, Angela practically lives in fear. Fear of men, fear of being touched, the repeated abuse and incestuous rape renting apart what little self-esteem she ever could have of herself. She is very self-destructive, hating herself and not giving a damn about whether if she throws her life away or not. She never had much of one to begin with.
She doesn’t trust people, least of all men. She views them as chauvinistic pigs and they’re only after “one thing”. At times Angela will change from the timid little girl and lash out at others, mostly men. Sometimes she has a knack for striking at people where it hurts the most, surprisingly even to those she doesn’t know very well. She is very critical of other people, taking suspicion in their acts of kindness.
Given all of that, it’s no surprise that Angela holds very low value in herself, viewing her rape and abuse as punishment, as her mother outwardly claimed how she had “seduced” her father. Angela constantly seeks her mother’s forgiveness; something which she has not, and probably never will, receive.
ROLEPLAY
History:Angela was never an outgoing girl. In truth she was anything but. Growing up in a stressful household would be considered an understatement. Abused physically and sexually by her insane father, Angela was raised out of terror—her mother’s act of ignorance, and her brother’s turned cheek did not help in the slightest. This continued for as long as she had ever known, to the point where it was all Angela ever came to know. She never really had any friends at school, probably having only made friends with a concerned guidance counselor during her entire high school experience. However, as the abuse with her father spiraled further out of control, Angela sunk deeper into herself, pushing away anyone who ever tried reaching out to her. She was never a very good student, as the stress at home never coincided with the stress at school; she skipped classes often to go be by her lonesome, away from her unsuspecting classmates.
With no friends to confide in, Angela was totally alone. Betrayed by her own family, the girl started driving herself towards madness to the point where she started having lucid dreams while awake. These dreams got so vivid that one day, when her father started coming at her, Angela started seeing him for what he truly was—a terrifying monster, she saw the DOORMAN.
Shaken beyond belief, Angela fled the house in terror, running until she could no longer run. At times she felt that it didn’t matter how far she fled, she always ended up back in the same place.
For days she wandered in a mist, helped by no one. She hitchhiked some, only to be dropped off in the same place... so it felt like. Midst the monochrome haze, Angela began to suspect that maybe she had somehow slipped into Hell. Buildings and walls would rust and crumble. Ash and snow would fall from nowhere, even though it’d been the middle of summer. The air would get thick. The dense fog seemed to go on forever. At times she would feel as if she is wandering down the same old corridors of her house, only without any rooms. The doors would be all locked, and there would be nothing outside the windows except for that same white mist. Steam flooded in through the cracks and floorboards of the House.
Eventually Angela was found in the town of Silent Hill, where she had made the mistake of staying at for several weeks (before that, she had decided not to stay in one place for too long, for fear of being found). There, she had made some contact with the locals, giving away false names to hide her identity, but for the most part had kept to herself there. Either way, when police had seen her, one of the officers recognized her from a Missing Persons poster, and promptly called her in. Unfortunately, they did not realize how much more harm this would do than good.
During her father’s attempt to drag her back home, Angela freaked out, sobbing and whimpering. The trip hadn’t been a very pleasant one, to say the least. Her father screamed and berated her the entire trip, with the frequent backhands and yanking of her hair, ripping out several strands and nearly scalping her.
By the time they made it to the house, when her father began to full on assault her once again, Angela rushed for one of the knives on the kitchen counter. In her panic, she repeatedly stabbed her father, the DOORMAN. Once again Angela ran away from home. A few hours later, the local police had found her, but not before her father had been discovered as well.
Because of her situation, Angela’s crime of passion was not damned. She was not arrested, but due to her frail condition the authorities thought it best that she be institutionalized.
When Angela came to the facility, she thought she had escaped the nightmare that was her father. However, as it turned out she had only been temporarily delaying the inevitable, for the DOORMAN had been sent there as well, even more mentally unstable if not more so. He had been reduced to the mentality of a violent child since the stabbing.
After a recent attack that went down in the corridors of the asylum, Angela was transferred elsewhere for her own safety. Being in the same vicinity as her crazed father didn’t seem like a very good idea. Now that the Storm has passed, Angela found herself admitted into Ravenshold Hospital, much to her chagrin.
Symptoms: Possibly caused by the childhood trauma of her past, Angela often suffers lucid delusions. At times she will be walking down corridors, not really knowing where she’s at. She will fall asleep one place and wake up in another with no memory of how she got there. The way she sees certain people will not always be the way they are, but how she sees them—as monsters.
Because of the life she lived, Angela is very paranoid. She trusts nobody. In her eyes, everyone is out to hurt her. Women are scoffing leeches, and men are hormone-driven monsters (though, with her history of her father’s sexual abuse, it would probably be best if her doctor and therapist were female). In a way she perceives everyone around her as something less than human. People just downright disgust her and she prefers to be alone.
It is also possible that Angela is bipolar (as she borderlines suicide ideations and frequent mood swings). Her moods have a tendency to switch like a lightbulb. She can turn from being very depressed to very angry and spiteful, lashing out at those even if they are trying to be nice to her. She can change from being the sad little victim to a violent, self-destructive young woman, a danger to herself and possibly to others. This could go hand-in-hand with bipolarity as well: When Angela goes into her depressive modes, however, she can be very suicidal. She probably wouldn’t go through arm’s length to get the deed done, but it’s something that most certainly should be noted.
With her history, it is no surprise that Angela has a severe case of Androphobia and Haphephobia, a fear of men and being touched. She is very uncomfortable around members of the opposite sex, and tends to get very jumpy when people get too overly nice to her. Even the nicer gestures such as touching her shoulder or trying to console her can set Angela off like a loose canon.
